F-Body VIN Decoding

Ab 1968 hatten alle Camaros und Firebirds ihre "Vehicle Identification Number" kurz VIN Nummer genannt sichtbar auf der linken Seite des Armaturenbretts unter der Windschutzscheibe. Diese ist alphanumerisch und sagt einiges über den jeweiligen Wagen aus. Sie verraten den Hersteller, die Produktionsstätte, den Modelltyp und die Ausführung, die Motorisierung, das Baujahr und die Produktionsnummer. Ab 1982 wurde die VIN länger und beinhaltete damit auch mehr Informationen.
